Expanded PTFE tubes are made through a complex process involving extrusion, calendaring, and mono-axial stretching.
The resulting tube is very flexible and impermeable to liquids, but permeable to gas.
ePTFE tubes find application in a variety of venting applications as well as in medical applications – where special tubes are used to make surgical grafts and stents.
