Overview
PTFE has unique properties of both chemical and temperature resistance. In addition to this, it can be made porous in various ways. Because of this it finds application in many areas where corrosive chemicals and or extreme temperatures are involved. Specialised PTFE materials are employed to filter impurities both from air as well as liquids.
Our current portfolio includes:
- Porous PTFE
These are made using a special moulding process and can be either skived to the desired thickness or machined. This material exhibits extreme porosity, allowing for a high level of air permeability. However, it is also hydrophobic, meaning liquids are repelled off the surface and may only pass through at elevated pressures. Poly Fluoro has the capability to modify the porosity such that the air permeability and water entry pressure are within defined parameters.
- ePTFE Vents
Vents are usually punched discs of ePTFE that have an adhesive layer around the rim on one side. These vents are used in both Automotive and Acoustic applications. The purpose of the vent is to allow any moisture built up within the system to escape, without allowing any foreign particles or liquids through
